The '67-'69 4 door Birds were awesome. I had the chance to buy one at auction. It was a suicide door landau w/428. Beautiful car...or at least after it was restored. I was outbid by $300 and it sold for $6800. I was already $1500 over my "limit" so I let it go.

There was a mustang station wagon produced during the Mustang II era. It was a "rare find" in an old edition of Mustang Illustrated.

Mustang Wagon

I was somewhat close. Its the January 1999 issue of Mustang Monthly. Article states that only 2 prototypes were built, so I guess i was wrong there. Also looks like I was wrong on the year. Looks like a '66 GT.
Posted a pics in the gallery I finally got around to creating.

Few years ago Mustang wagon was on sale on eBay. According to the story, only 2 were built and they were presented to Lee Iacocca. He quickly turned idea down.
