My 4.6 liter F150 has a throttle body spacer, exhaust and AEM intake and i am told that the hypertech will not work as good with these mods. what aftermarket chip or programmer would suit me? i really need siomething thats also going to correct my speedometer
superchips? but really the few people ive known to use these reprogrammers have had problems in the long run... engine knocks, coolant disappearing(internal gaskets) and shorter engine life....
When used on an automatic trans equiped ford vehicle the DiabloSport tuner will make a HUGE difference in performance. Even on 5 and 6 speeds the difference is easily noticable but on autos it is something else. The Diablosport Predator remaps the fuel and timing curve of the engine for more power, offers (3) different tunes including a power/mileage tune for 87 octane, and also changes the shift points and firmness of the tranny. If you have any question feel free to give me a call as I have these in stock and ready to ship before Christmas. Be sure to let me know you are an FTE memeber and I guarantee you the price/service you get WILL NOT be beat ANYWHERE else.
I bumped up the shift firmness to my liking, WOT fuel % up to 130, spark advance up 2, idle up 100 rpm, this was all for level 3 only. Levels 1 and 2 all I changed was shift firmness. Give this a try and see if you like it.
I used the Hypertech Power Programmer III to change shift firmness, top speed (not that i'll ever need that), bumped up the WOT shift points for 1-2 and 2-3 by 300 RPM's and increased redline by 400 RPM.
Although MPG hasn't improved one bit, all i can say is when i'm loping around town or cruising the sticks, it just runs better..smoother. and WOT? firm shifts like you can't believe.
I have the Max tuner by Superchips, works well, I changed my speedo calibration (bigger tires), and firmed up the shift points a little bit more. I got a really good deal on mine otherwise I would have went with a Diablo.
Oh ya....don't worry about your engine getting damaged from a tuner, never have I heard anyone complaining about it.
