Have you ever had a set of brake shoes split up the middle of the pads?I put shoes on the rear of my 87 f150 not long ago, one of the rear cylinders started to leak, so I took it apart, and of course every thing was brake fluid soaked, but I noticed the linings were cracked up the middle, thinking maybe from heat of the cylinder locking up, but the other side which doesn't look to be leaking, those pads are cracked too. any thoughts on this one anyone?

By cracked up the middle do you mean they were cracked up the middle along there length or there width? Either way I have never seen this happen before. One thought is the arc of the shoes do not match the arc of the drums or it could just be a manufacturing defect.
