This is the second fuse I have popped in 2 days.... I recon there is a problem.
92 f150 2wd.
The instrument panel lights and tail lights keep going out. Found the fuse and replaced it after work. 5 minutes into my drive home it pops again. This has happened twice. It pops on its own. Not when I hit my brakes or turn on my signal... just goes pop.
Any ideas?
My brake lights work, and blinkers, but no tail lights and instrument panel lights.
Thanks in advance.
PS: I realize this is probably a short somewhere but is there a common place that this happens. Where should I start looking?
Anyplace that work has been done or the wiring has been modified. Do you have running boards with marker lights? Do you have a camper top with marker lights?
Nothing has been done to the wiring on this thing. Acually it has sat for a little while. I drive my other car usually and only drive this like once every couple weeks.
The only suggestion I have is replace the fuse, and then wiggle a certain section of the wiring harness, and then check to see if the fuse is blown. Keep doing one section at a time till you can narrow it down. Check the wiring around the brake pedal/steering column area too.
