Has anybody tried this out yet? Would this be a good idea to lower my EGT's and improve exaust flow?
I just had mine done at a machine shop. I'm still getting the truck back together currently, but I've been told that it will really help lower the EGT's and spool the turbo quicker. My up pipe did have the little scoop in it, but it doesn't anymore. Should be driving again Friday. If I am, I'll be takingabout a 6 hour round trip Saturday night and can let you know then how well it does.
What did you do about the EGR valve? did you just unplug it or can you find a plug to fit in there?
I just left it in. This way the computer still thinks it's working and doesn't throw any codes. I removed the scoop in the uppipe and made it a nice whole pipe and I blocked off where it goes into the intake and I installed a bypass for the coolant that flowed through. I got all the parts from Liberator Performance. He actually had a block off plate for the uppipe, but I wanted that scoop out of it so I had it done for me.

The coolant bypass. Is there a web page i can order from?
I don't see his EGR Remmoval kit listed, but you can e-mail him or call him.
His kit includes:
Coolant Bypass with bracket to mount
New Intake Gaskets
Block off plate for uppipe
Block off plate for intake
I didn't use the block off plate for the uppipe since I just had mine modified by a machine shop, but if you used it, you'd be able to return the truck to stock very easily if you had a warranty issue you were concerned about.
