Ranger hood hinges
I'm sure I've not invented a new way to screw up. I'll spare you the back story, except to say the wind caught the hood of my 86 Ranger and flipped it back against the windshield. The attendent damage to the hinges keeps the hood from closing properly. I've tweaked the hinges some with a pipe wrench, but they still bottom out in their housings before the hood is fully shut. I'd like to go with junk yard hinges, but cannot figure out how to disconect the damaged hinges. The housings seem to be welded to the firewall. Is there a disconect point back in that housing of the wiper arms?
I found two access ports, but my hand is too big to reach completely around the hinge in there. I'd be most grateful to hear the experiences of others with this problem.
