Want a 9.75, Easy to sell 8.8???
I have a 8.8 31 spline open axle on my 4.6l F150, instead of putting any money into it, I figure i'll just find a 9.75 axle with the posi in it(which will be enough for me right now), how much do ya'll reckon a 9.75 will cost at a junkyard? Will it be easy to sell my 8.8? I was thinking some Jeep owners would be interested in it. Also, my rotors and brake stuff will just bolt onto the 9.75 won't they? Along with the u-joint on the driveshaft? Thanks for any help

Jeep owners are interested in 8.8s out of Explorers because the width (WMS-WMS) is ~59" which is close to stock Wrangler width and they have 5x4.5 bolt pattern along with disc brakes. 4WD Explorers also have a limited slip and some have 4:10 gear ratio (which is also a stock ratio for Wranglers). Is this the 8.8 that you have?
If you plan on removing the brakes, then you might not get much of out of the axle.
