I'm hoping to hear from anyone with firsthand experience in getting more torque out of a late model two valve V10... Banks, Gibson, Volant, any of them, what works and what doesn't? Also would like to know if anything has adverse affects on the already fairly dismal mileage figures... Thanks in advance for your replies.
Steve
On my '00 I installed a K&N intake, Borla cat back, and superchiped it. The intake gave alittle mid range and more noise. The cat back makes more noise. The chip was to modify my shift points ( I like a trans to shift firmer ) but it gave me 1mpg on the computer with the tow program and seat of the pants wise nothing gained. Looking back on it I'd save the money from the intake and get headers and get rid of that crappy y pipe. Or even better not even spend it at all.
I remember a while back Capt Chas posted up what all he had bought to try and up the performance of his 3 valver V-10. He spend hundreds on programers, headers, mufflers pipes. Out of everything he tried, he said his best kick in the pants was the gearing change to 4.56. Last I remember him saying he was going to try the Whipple supercharger as soon as they made one that would fit.
I think Ford has already tweaked this V-10 to the max, and if you want more, well, it will cost big bucks to get it.

thanks for the help 4wd.
whipple stoped all protypeing for the 3v and droped production on the 2 v kit .keenybell did the same .so when they run out of 2 valve stock there will be now more blower kits for the 2v.
and yes my best kick in the six was the regear to 56's from 4;10's and a flasher to reprogram it. every thing else was a waste of cash .for my 3 VALVE.
2 valves you can still play a little more with them.
steve that 05 will get a little better around 150 hours and 7.5k on the clock.

Thanks for all the help and welcoming words folks, I guess I need to be more specific though. The F450 I list is a diesel work truck, been lucky with it so far, however not willing to take that chance again, also looking at the more bang for the buck of a 10. It would be an '02 to '04 F350 for fifth wheel duty, seen a few I'm considering but no purchase yet. So my questions pertain to the two valve version, in specific Banks' claims that if you spend enough, to get close to 500 ft lbs. Any experience to be told will help my decision on staying stock or not. Anyway, thanks again, I'll be looking forward to more replies and communication soon. In all, you are a much friendlier group than the BMW forums I'm used to. I have a Dinan blower on my bimmer and love it but would not go that route again, for the cost I would go chipped diesel instead...
