I was driving my date home and all of my lights got dim, and soon the radio flickered on and off.. and then the engine finaly conked out leaving us stranded.
I had a friend come with jumper cables to charge up my battery assuming that the alternator was fryed.. and we were able to move it to a parkinglot
The next day we tried charging it again and when we started it, it ran then suddonly shut off and now i have random places without power.
When i turn the key, the Emissions light does not turn on.. nor does the radio.
The engine turns over, but the tachometer does not read, so its not getting spark.
I brought my alternator to a auto electric shop, they said it was intermitantly produceing high voltage..
So where should I look for things that got damaged from a voltage spike?
I put a new alternator in but i still have no power to the radio/ or spark...

Just curious, but did she think you were putting a move on her like the old "uh oh, I ran out of gas" statement?
