Question Remove Putco chrome door covers

I just installed the Putco chrome door covers, my wife likes them real well, and thinks they set off the truck. I on the other hand am not so sure I like the looks of them, It almost seems a little to much chrome for me. anyway the question is
if I decide to take them off How would I go about it. They are stuck on with double siided 3M tape and MAN are they stuck on good!!

Any thoughts would be helpfull.

P.S i may just leave them on havent decided for sure.

Finernail polish remover (acetone), lacquer thinner, or some other solvent that will break down the glue. Try to keep excess solvent off your paint (I know that's easier said than done).

A heat gun or high wattage hair dryer might do the trick.

If you pull hard enough, they will coem off. I replaced the putco crappy plasic covers to the polished stainless ones. I just pulled it off. I was not a easy pull. I had to work at it but it came off. I used goo gone to remove the adhesive. Goo Gone is citrus based and was safe on the paint.

Thanks for all the good idea's. I was afraid if I pulled on them it may damage my door handles. right now the tempature outside is cold, do you think they would pull off easier if I waited untill it warmed up or as some have said warm up the door handles with a hair dryer.

Sure... heat virtually always softens tape adhesives.

Well I removed the Putco door handle covers last night and they came off fairly easy
probably because they had only been on for a week and the adhesive may have not set up real well. getting them started was the hard part I had to use a screw driver to get them started and new if I made one bad slip I would damage the paint, but I went slow and things worked out. you cant tell they were ever on. I did learn a valuable lesson(and lost a $100.00) think things thru and make sure it is what you want before installing these covers, they can be real hard if not almost impossible to remove.
