Need advice

I am looking at buying myself a truck. 2004 f250 4x4 cc . It has the newer grill and lots of goodies. I am a ford man and have enough understanding of the 6.0 to know that '03 and '04 were troublesome years for the trucks. My question is though if i buy it are they hard to sale? If the truck has been chipped and i remove the chip will it still affect the warranty? Lastly, does 31,000 sound too much for a clean spotless truck with 32000 miles? thanks

catan, I'll touch on one of your questions: $31k sounds too high for an 04. FWIW The Nada and Kelly Blue Book prices seem to be higher than the actual marketplace. You should be able to buy the same new cc 06/07 for $35-40k depending upon equipment or 20-25% off stcker. I'd guess that a good price for a clean 04 is about $26-28k. Good luck

Being it has been chipped. I would wonder if there was some (unseen) engine damage. Not there was any but it would send me a red flag if it was me. Because a chipped vehicle could put extra pressures to the head gaskets, crank etc. There have been reported head gasket problems with 03 and early 04 model years.

Catan, like posted above, if you know or suspect it's been chipped then at the very least get a OASIS report to see what repairs have been made or if Ford has noted it is a chipped engine. If Ford already "flagged" it as modified, you removing the chip will not automatically get the warranty back, yaknow?

Also, I'd agree the price is up there unless there's other upgrades like bed cover, etc... Good luck!

$31K for an 04 with 32,000? Run Forrest Run. I got my 05 for $34K brand new. If you look hard enough and have a little paitence you could get a new one with a warranty for that price.
