Cab Steps?

Cab Steps?
On my dad's 76 f250 hi-boy and my father in law's 77 f250 hi-boy both had a box style steps on the cab. My dad said they were an after market product, and I have done searches everywhere. They are supposedly made by Bemco. I am wanting a set for my 1978 f250 or atleast pictures so I can make my own.

I have looked through the gallerys and also searched the net and haven't seen anything. If I ever run across some, I'll get pictures and post them.

Are they the kind that swing out when you open the door? If so I have them on my truck, they were a dealer option. I dunno where to find any, but a good metal shop could fab some up. I could measure mine as I have one removed at the moment, I had them powdercoated & have only re-installed the pass side. Brian

N7ghtwolf, there was a spot cut in the bars for the access to the handle, I removed that grille since it was all bent up, rusty and falling apart.
The steps are solid and don't move. I am in the process of fabricating up a set of something similar, but mounting is still in progress.

Ford offered two types of running boards in the 1970's, and one step.
Running boards for Super Cabs were first offered in 1979. These only extended to the rear of the cab.
Ford offered as a dealer installed accessory, a hidden board that appeared when the front doors opened. They were ergonomically unviable, as the steps were too far forward to be of much use.
Ford also offered a step that attached to the front portion of the bed, in front of the rear fender of 1970/79 Flare Side Pickups.
Note: The steps and the Super Cab running boards are pictured in the 73/79 Ford truck parts catalog. The hidden boards are not.
