Ryan's correct.......And just for your information, the manual says it's fully heated after 3 hrs, but leaving it plugged in overnight (such as in going to bed and waking up to start your vehicle...which is most of us) will not harm it. Just like you cannot "over-wind" a self-winding, kinetic watch......

I just installed a 15 amp outdoor mechanical timer to control my electric usage on this issue. For the $20 is cost me at Home Depot, I should see payback in less than one month's usage based on today's electric costs.
