Short of sending my brake fluid to a lab, is there a way to tell Dot3 from silicone fluids? I am sure my 2002 F250 came with Dot 3, but every time I get ready to replace it the green color makes me hesitant.
I remember something about litmus strips for the amount of water, but is there another test? Is there a PH difference in silicone vs normal brake fluids?
Google research has lead me to believe it's LHM mineral oil based hydrolyc fliud. So I can't use the 2 cases of performance friction Z-fluid I picked up.
Anyone know who may make it in the USA? I have checked castrol, royal purple, and redline so far but I haven't turned up any hits yet.
