Tarus tranny issue?

Tarus tranny issue?
A friend of the wife says her tarus will engage in reverse but does not go forward when put into drive,It was 2 quarts low of fluid and after adding it still no results. Does this mean the tranny is broken, Has 150k on it?

What year is it, there were a few different trannys used. Not that it really matters I guess, it doesn't sound good. A good flush would be a reasonable rescue effort at this point. Let us know what happens.

Will it move with the shifter in 1? I just fixed a Taurus that did this, it wouldn't go in D, but it would in 1. The forward clutch seals had cracked and failed. The trans has a higher pressure in 1 than in D, so it could overcome the bad seals.
