How to pull codes of a non running engine?
Boy, what a fix. FOrd 92 f150 302 was running like crap. Dies about a 1/4 mile from home, let it sit this past week. I had to pull the battery and replace and when I did I believe I erased all the stored codes before pulling them. I can't get it started and the only codes I get are the ones saying that it is not up to operating temp and the one saying the ecm is good. It acts extremly flooded ... might change plugs just to try and get it running. It fires but just doesn't take off. I also have a new fuel filter i'm heading out to replace right now. Alos, it hasn't gotten above 20dergrees this past week. Thanks for any feedback... knd of a crap shoot until I can at least get it started and generating some codes telling me what is the matter. D.P.

Change the plugs and crank it couple times to try to get the gas out of the cylinders. Then change the oil before you try to run it. It's probably full of gas and will ruin the bearings in short order. I'd then be checking the fuel pressure regulator.
