Chat Problems Solved!!!
I haven't been able to get into the Live Chat Room for months. I really missed our get togethers on Saturday night. I used to be a regular there. However, I was finally able to do it today with the help of my IT guy. He was able to log onto my computer remotely and figure it out. I can now get in using Firefox, but not Internet Explorer.
The problem: The FTE Chat software didn't like the latest updates of Java (version 1.5, updates 7,8,9).
The solution: Remove the later Java versions and install version 1.5, update 6. It works perfectly now.
For some reason, Internet Explorer just doesn't get into the chat at all, regardless of the Java versions we tried. In fact, it blows IE completely out--back to a system prompt.
You can update your computer's Java version using the Control Panel and "Remove" tab, then look for anything that starts with "Java" and blow it away, then go to Java.com and upload version 1.5, update 6 and install it. Or you can PM me and I'll give you my IT guy's info. He is a member here now also.

I solved my problem thanks to Nuthin. But my son got on my puter went on my space got a bunch of bad bugs. Took me a week to get them out so i could stay on line for any amount of time. Just lucky I know how to get rid of them could have cost me a bundle to take it to the shop.

Glad you got it figured out. I'll try your advice. I made it on last week using firefox.
I wasn't able to get on last night...I was working my half of the compromise. I took the wife shopping since I spent the daylight hours tinkering with the truck
