1998 Explorer EATC Climate Control Unit reset?

1998 Explorer EATC Climate Control Unit reset?
I have a 98' Explorer which has been brilliant since new with the Electronic Automatic Climate Control.
When I ran the diagnostic on the radio it showed a 024 code. When I cleared the code it returned to normal and the heat worked.<O

The unit is simple enough to replace, slides in below the radio after radio and trim removed. Would a new or salvage unit require a reset or diagnostics be run after the part was replaced?<O</O
The dealer charged $95.00 for the diagnostic, and was benevolent enough to say they would apply the $95.00 to the total charge of $765.00 when I replaced it. I don't blame them for earning but I don't have deep pockets and want to save a few bucks by doing the job myself. I have found the forum to be useful and thank you in advance.<O</O
