Supports

Are there suppose to be two supports mounted to hood latch down to grill mounting area? if so what are they called? After installing my grill I noticed two holes not used on the bottom. On top I can't find where they go except for the hood latch area. Am I right?

I'm not sure about a 64, I know some slicks have 1 and others have 2 but not sure which is what.

My 66 uses only 1 & it goes from the hood latch plate, across the back of the grille & down to the gravel shield/ pan.

Robert take a look at my gallery. I am sure that I have a few pitcures of the latch and mounting holes. If not I can go out to the garage and take a few pictures for you.

Hey Mark I took a look at your galleries and I didn't see what I was looking for If you get the chance check it out for me see if there is a support or two from hood latch down I'd appreciate it. It would stand to reason that there should be because of the hood closing will cause it to bend and mine kina looks like it's sagging a bit. thanks Mark.

Two pieces of brace one left and one right. Bolt at the top to the hood latch and at the bottom through the grill and lower valence into those cage nuts that always break!

What year grille are you using? I beleive the 61-64 grilles have extra support bolts on the bottom. I happened to notice this when I tried to put a 63 stone guard on a 66 pickup and had extra holes in the guard not being used. Lewis

I took a few pictures of the supports. There are a bunch since I don't have my radiator out anymore but you will get the general idea. Check your email when you get a chance.
