well while cleaning i discovered 1 of the intake bolts broken in the the head, it was out about an inch turned and broke off flush with head so tried to use easy out and now it broke just above surface started to try to get out with a chisel then had to go to work. does anybody have any ideas to remove the easy out so i can finish drilling and tapping? mabe someone has some ideas i havent thought of yet. the head is on the block and if i remove it i'll have to buy head gaskets. have other heads but the need to go to a shop, more money! will keep trying tomorrow so just thought i'd see if anybody had any ideas before i go at it again. maybe don't need it (dought it) but a thought it's the bolt on passenger side closest to the front.

Reason: no pic
If the easy out is broken off, drilling will be extremely difficult, they are very hard.
I've had this happen to me, the way I got the easy out out was to use a brazing tip on the torch, heat up just the easy out if possible, get it red then take a punch to shatter it. Then I drilled and tapped the hole out like baddad457 said.
I didn't drill and tap the hole, knock the easyout, out, then drill out the hole and use a 5/16" bolt with a nut on the backside. This of course only works on the top bolts. And sometimes the only solution when the hole is butchered beyond help.
Ummmmm, he said the INTAKE bolt...broke off. I would pull the head, it will be easier to work on it and you eliminate the possibility of getting metal shavings, chips in the engine. You might be able to heat the head and get some movement of the bolt with a punch or chisel.
this is the blind hole at front of motor now it's worse i got most of the easyout out and drilled it then i broke the tap in the hole!!!!!!! yikes start on it again tomorrow
Intake side?? Missed that part. If you have a welding machine, and can access the hole, take a larger nut (one step larger than the bolt size), hold it up against the head covering the bolt hole and weld the center of the nut solid, let it cool, then unscrew the bolt. Works everytime.
