Well I was loving my 05 6.0l until tonight. I have a regular apointment at Ford for my 20,000 mile service this saturday and I need to know what to ask please help me.
Here are the details
05 F-350 4x4 6.0L 6Spd. 19,865 miles All stock.
All service has been done at the buying dealer oil every 5,000 filters just done at 15,000 One recall and flash but never any trouble after it in fact it ran much better.
PS DK every fill up double dose.
OK here is my trouble
Tonight after a 50 mile interstate run (nothing in tow) the truck started to miss it did not matter what gear I was in and if I ran it hard it would go away. When I got back on the intersate I cranked it up good and the miss seemed to be gone until I got home 50 miles later it was back. I needed fuel so I filled up and it is still there.
Any ideas?????
If you need more info I will try to answer
One thing the last three tanks of fuel were at a new sation not my regular stop.
This has been the best truck I ever owned but I have to make these 50 mile one way runs every week and now I am scared I won't make it and it is getting very cold here in Pa. I don't want to walk up the highway.
Thanks in advanvce
Glen
Thanks for the replies.
Will this show up on the computer even if I did not get a check engine light?
Is it safe to drive for now?
How involved is it to change a injector?
Will they do just one or all?
Glen
well depending on how the injector is failing, you may not get a code and it may not be a good thing to drive it alot as if it is overfueling then you could have a meltdown
Going to Ford tommorrow I had a regular oil change planned.
Thanks for the help I will let you know what happens.
I have been a Ford truck fan all my life and had all good trucks this is my first Diesel and I love the power and ability it has.

I got the truck back tonight. My dealer is about 30 miles from my house so it was a test run too.
The truck ran great and seems like it's back to normal here is what was done
Injector replaced on # 1
Fuel pump replaced.
Both fuel filters replaced.
Oil and Filter replaced
I am glad it's back to normal I did lose a little faith but I hope to gain it back. I am making a 200 mile trip Friday hopefully trouble free.
This is still the best of all the fords I owned even with that big soft spot for my 77 F-250 4x4 460 4Spd.
The dealer was great very nice and very helpfull.

My truck kind of does this, i start it up in the morning and let it run to get some warm air inside the truck, leave the house and as im going down the street at about 50 mph or 1200-1500 rpms it seems to get a little bouncy or like it is cutting out maybe something stuck? It only happened a couple of times and that was when it was 18-28 outside. I dont want to bring it to the dealer bcz it runs so good other than those 2 incidents
