Howdy. On my 99 explorer the check engine light has started coming on. The code is P0171, running lean. I reset it but after a ~100-200 miles it comes on again. This started after I ran a fuel system cleaner when I got my oil changed. It has 248k miles and never had a problem until now. Could the O2 or MAF sensor have crud on it? I would check them but I have no idea how to access them. I checked the trouble code page: http://www.obd-codes.com/trouble_codes/generic/p0171-system-too-lean-bank-1-oxygen-sensor.php
Thanks.

I am pretty sure you will find that you have a vacuum leak. It is a very common code for Fords in general. In the Sport and Sport Trac era it is the elbow that goes into the intake near the front of the engine on the passengers side.
If you were to follow the the line/elbow back you would find it is attached to the PCV.
The hose cracks on the bottom so you normally have to pull it off to see the crack.
