Problem, I turn switch on dash to 4X4 , transfer case engages but not HUBs . What should I look for.Hubs are in Auto position. Recently had a Injection Pressure sensor changed.

are there any outward signs that the hubs have locked/unlocked? or do you just have to jack up the front and try to spin the wheels? I have a 4X4, and i have always wondered that.
Bignorth, how did you discover that they aren't engaging? I'm not doubting you at all, im just trying to figure out how you noticed that were not, so that I can check too. (i rarely use my 4x4 so a quick way to do a visual inspection to make sure that the hubs have actually engaged/ disengaged would be wonderful.
Sorry i don't have an answer, but if i had to guess, i would suspect the vacuum lines too. from reading other posts, like Monsta said, that is what it always seems to be. Seems like a poorly designed system to me... but thats just my $.02
You can reach behind a front wheel (obviously when the vehicle is parked), and try to turn the axle's U-joint by hand. Won't rotate? Locked. Will rotate? Not locked.
Just curious...
are there any outward signs that the hubs have locked/unlocked?

Stop on a hill, going upwards. Step on the gas in 2 wheel drive. Stop.
Now put it in 4 wheel drive and accelerate. You can tell if it it's now in 4 wheel drive or not. There's a very distinct feel when you have 4 wheels pulling instead of 2.
Sorry I cant figure how to post a new thread... I have 200 F350. Came w/ shift on the fly but i changed to manual locking hubs. It isn't engaging. Hubs locked in, shift on the fly changed to 4x4...front tires dont spin but the axle is... Where do i start??? I am stuck home due to the weather now and need my 4x4 fixed! Someone please help!
To post a new thread, there is blue rectangular button on the main forum page that says 'new thread' It is to the left of the thing that shows all the page #'s at the top of the screen. You may want to repost your question in a new thread so it gets more views.
I am no expert on the ford 4x4 system, but I'll see if i cant help reason it out though. As far as I know, the 4x4 selector **** does 2 things when you put it in 4x4. It engages the front driveshaft at the transfer case, and locks the hubs. If you say that you replaced the hubs, the only thing it should do is engage and spin the front driveshaft, which you said it is doing (i think thats what you meant when you said the axle is spinning). Is it possible that there is a problem with the manual hubs? It seems unlikely that both would fail simultaneously though... But I think that you can isolate the problem to the front axle hubs or differential, because it sounds like the transfer case is engaging...
But thats just a guess Keep warm, and hopefully you can get it fixed soon!
Actually, if you lock the hubs not only will the the axle shafts spin but the front drive axle will too.
There aren't too many reasons why the Xfer case won't engage. I would first make sure you are getting voltage to the encoder motor on the Xfer case itself. Unfortunantly, I do not know what it should read when you switch it. Sorry... Maybe a search through the Super Duty forum will turn something up.
oh yeah, i hadn't thought about theengaged hubs spinning the driveshaft. Good thought Monsta! I'm going to defer to your superiour knowledge now and cry newbie
Just don't say anything about my poor sentence structure. I actually went back and changed that first statement and forgot to remove parts of the old one.
