Differental fluid
86 F-150 4X4, 302 EFI with auto trans. I'm wondering what type of lube is in the front and rear diffs. I'm pretty sure the transmition is a ADO so that means Dextron III and my transfer case is a 208( I think), so that should get Dextron as well. Just can't seam to find the pumpkin fluid.

Thanks guys. Another stupid question, how do I know if I have a limit-slip. I found a tag on the front with some numbers. the only one i can figure out is 3 54, gear ratio?

Yes, it's a 3.54 gear ratio. The lack of an "L" indicates an open diff. Look for a tag on the back axle. It will be 3L54 (limited slip) or 3 54 (open). It could also be 3L55 or 3 55. Sometimes the first number is obscurred by the mounting bolt.

yes the tranny and t-case are dextron 3, I am a tranny man and highly recomend using synthetic in the tranny, t-case doesn't really matter, as far as the dif's go, 75-90 or 80-90 is fine and use a friction modifier or synthetic dif lube if they are a limited slip, otherwise just regular dif lube is fine.
