Please remember Pearl Harbor

December 7th is coming up. Please remember all that gave their lives then and now. Since my dad was in Pearl Harbor when it was attacked, this was sent to me by a friend. I don't know the origination of the email, but thought I would share too. He was at Hickam Field, which was devastated.

THESE PICS ARE SO MANY YEARS AGO, MOST PEOPLE HAVE NEVER SEEN THESE.

Awesome, yet sad. Pearl Harbor, December 7, 1941 - some 65 years gone by, but not forgotten.

Sure will remember. It was a tragic day but it gave us the kick in the butt to do the right thing and help defeat the axis.

My flag is propped up by the front door awaiting deployment in the early morning.

I'll never forget visiting the USS Arizona Memorial.

My flag flies proudly every single day. I need to get some lights on it at night though.

I will always remember the day, a "day that shall live in infamy", and in fact I note it on my calender in my own writing every January since in this PC corrupted/perverted society we live in they choose to not show it on modern calenders anymore. Remember back in 1991 (50 year anniversary for PH) when the mentality was to "not offend" the Japsanese since they hold so many US bonds and we were supposed to be afraid they'd want to cash them in all at once? So what, let them want their stinking yens, who cares about them and after all, LOOK at what THEY did. How about some folks in this country begin showing a little repect for the numerous Americans that were murdered by the Japsanese in their psychotic blunder, And yes, there are no oriental vehicles in my garage, my driveway, etc etc and there never will be. And if I ever get the urge to buy another street bike it's gonna be a Harley .

That's all for now.

I never forget this awful day.

I was in Hawaii and made a special attempt to visit all of the areas that had anything to do with the attack.

I posted this on FTE 4 years ago.

I have all the movies ever made of it and watch them occasionally.

I was just a kid, but I remember the grown-ups being excited and the newspaper putting out an Extra ( most reading this will have no idea what an Extra is). I remember the family gathering around the big Scott Attwater radio listening to FDR's speech.

And that is?????

Please understand that I respect your opinion as an individual.

But to my mind a sneak attack is a sneak attack.

Cut and dried.

(Oops - oh great. I bet this one gets locked fast)

I hope we can keep this non-political. I would like to just have the victims remembered.....

Were people really different in the forties? I try to imagine the life style....
It was kind of different. Electronic music wasn't there. The sixties had not happened. What did they HAVE?

And how did it make them different?

Can we explore what the average american person was like in the early forties? Is anyone here who personally remembers what it was like?

I don't know how to ask this really...

TELL US WHAT IT WAS LIKE, if you want to and can, please. Because I love to hear from those who know what went on before I was here. I need to know what happened. I can't learn from what I don't know!

I can only make up what I think it was like in my imagination. I DON'T KNOW!

Like brown and white pictures from a camera that could not capture colors, or even black and white...

"I peer closely at the images I see of what once was, and try as I may I know I am missing something...."

I know this is asking about the war, but I wonder what people were like before it and after the attack.
