oil leak from?

oil leak from?
My 1990 F150 with manual transmission has a drip of oil and the mechanic said he would have to remove the floorboards to get to the cover to replace the gasket (or whatever). He said it was too expensive to do and recommended just letting it leak(?). I don't know what cover he's talking about. Can anyone help from the info I've given?

I would say it is the plate bloted in the floor board around the shifter's to allow access to the top of the transmission..
You can pull the carpet back and look.
Maybe if you pull the carpet he would do it cheaper.
Or once inside you might decide if it is easy enough to do yourself.
