Hi all!
I got a wierd problem that i can´t figure out the solution to. Since my english ain´t that good and I´m not a mech. it will be quit hard to explain my problem but here it goes...
(F 250 7,3l 1991, E4OD)
When i start it up the tach stands dead at 0rpm, and when I put it in drive it´s not shifting gears and the tranny is slipping (dont know if its the right word), after about 10-15 min the tachometer suddely start working and You can "feel" the tranny wake to life and start shifting gears as normal.
The tach sensor is probably going out. It's the gold (or silver) colored nut with the two wires coming out of it on the top of the front gear housing (behind the oil fill). The trans. needs the input from the tach to work.
ok, changed the sensor to a brand new one....no improvment. Tach is dead for about 10 15 min. and no gears (limp mode?). when the engine is warm the thac is dead for about a minute or so and then everything back to normal (tranny switches gears and tach working just fine).
Anything else but the sensor that might cause this problem?
