Exhaust work question
I am thinking about a new dp and straight piping my 97 250. How many of you have done this and how much louder is it going to get? I checked out stevebaz's site where he talks about doing it but just wanted a second/third opinion. I know this won't flow as well as fully madrel bent 4" pipes but you do what you can with what you have right?

I've done it.
Doesn't get too much louder(Ithink) I didn't straight pipe, put a new muff on, but they are straight through for great flow and keeps th noise down a bit. Not opposed to noise, just don't need it in my application.
Lots of guys do it them selves. It is a pita to move the firewall back. A porta power works great for this. I unfortunately had to take mine to a shop for final installation because none of the hangers matched up. I bought a MBRP 4" system and wasn't thrilled with the difficulty I had trying to install it. I don't know if it was just me or not, but it was a mess to do with this particular brand.

On a 1st gen body this is the FIRST mod that should be done!! Check the aluminized and stainless pipes we have as well as the cat test pipes that bolt on too! If you have one of the round mufflers just leave it alone it's already straight thru. If you want to do a full system we have the AFE system's as low as 299.00. Questions just call.
