The towing package on my KR included the 7 - pin wiring harness and connector, Class III frame-mounted hitch receiver, heavy duty shocks, 72 amp-hr battery, and an auxillary transmission oil cooler.
Hi I have a 2003 150 four door, not the 7700 and when I put it in four wheel drive I hear it click and the lights on the dash shows its in four wheel drive but doesn't engage, it worked fine last winter. Any Ideas?
Welcome to FTE gregvernon! There is a vacuum motor on the front axle that shifts the axle in and out. The lever that it operates is covered over by a plastic cover. Remove the cover and clean the pivot points on the lever. lube it up good and put the cover back on. That should get you going again. Good luck!
I'd actually be willing to bet that it's the shift motor. Find a buddy, put it in 4x4 and then move slowly. If the motor isn't working , the driveshift won't move. If the motor is fine, the driveshaft will turn at the same rate as the rear driveshaft.
Usually a couple of taps with a hammer will free it up.
Well then just give it a couple of taps, select 4x4 and see what happens. Repeat until you get results. This is electric shift right?
Also to check the driveshaft, you could tape/tie a piece of string onto the D-shaft and then drive very slow. If it pulls when 4x4 is selected, then the shift motor is fine. If not, then it's the motor.
Its defintely not your shift motor on the transfer case. If the light lights up on the dash, then that means that the proper conditions have been met to shift the t-case into 4H or 4L. You problem may be the vacuum shift motor that is mounted on the front axle.
