performance intakes

can any one give me some feedback on intakes for a 94 f150 ford truck with a inline 6 300? will it really boost power while improoving gas mileage? does it matter lets say if i bought just a k & n filter rather then the whole system?

Waste of money. There is more than enough flow potential in the intake systems of all these trucks for quite a bit of added performance. The exhaust is the cork. Start with headers and a single 2.5" exhaust.

if you do an exhaust upgrade then yes a high flow filter would help a little (not an insert) a cone filter i saw a little difference in my K&N (not by seat of the pants) i also had a 3" cat back now i have headers and true duals with no cats and glass pack mufflers with that situation then yes a high performance filter will help.
Before I lifted my pickup i got 1 mpg better on the highway running 65 mph

careful what you buy from K+N i would put a drop in filter before putting some of the old kits they offered. Make sure its drawing in cold air from outside the engine compartment. You can loose more hp sucking 200 degree air under the hood than you would gain with the the high flow filter and it just makes a bunch of noise. i read some where that every 18 degrees of air temp loses about 1 hp.
