My rear tank (90 F150 5.0) is not coming on. Normal operation for the front tank. I have the wiring diagram, and I can deduce that everything to the switch is working because the fuel gauge reads the back tank. I'm guessing I need to :
A. check rear tank is getting power through BR/W
B. check rear pump is properly grounded
C. check operation of the pump
Is this going to be easy to do or will I have to drop the tank, etc.?

Take the bed off and replace the FDM (Fuel Delivery Module).
how long does it take to take the bed off and put it back on? Also, fuel delivery module doesn't come up in my parts store search. is there another name for it?
Also, whatever needs to be replaced for the rear, should I also replace for the front, or wait till it causes a problem?
The bed should have six bolts, two fuel fill hoses and a plug in the rear. Then you need four guys, one at each corner and lift it off.
If you try to drop a tank and it is full of fuel it is very heavy and the bands that hold it on are a pain to get off without damaging them. Then you still have the fuel fill hoses, wiring, fuel lines and vent hose to get off and hard to reach on top of the tank. Cold gas running down your arm from underneath is no fun either.
The fuel delivery module I think you only find it at a Ford dealer, part stores may sell the pump that goes inside but it is a pain to change and you will not be renewing the check valves and the shuttle valve.
The FDM to me is very expensive so I would just replace the non-working one but that is up to you.
You can also check the pump for power and run it with the bed off before you change it.
