Just uploaded newest project into my gallery, its a 59 F100 2wd, been converted to a 4x4 with a 292 V-8. Front end unknown year at this time. Also has front disc brakes..
Geesh that doesn't look like much of a project all you need is a carb and its driveable
Is the frontend a High pinion and does it have leftovers of radius arm mounts on the axle where its mounted to the leafs? If so its a 78-79 f150/bronco frontend Later ones had cast radius arm mounts and the axle tube was actuallly pressed into the cast mounts. If its a low pinion probably a jeep wagonner axle.
Well; I consider it a hand full; once I strip it down and figure out all the front end stuff; Thanks to Gary E for getting my brain to thinking about the front diff, I havn't truely check for numbers etc but there's no radius arm bracket/mounts attach, that I can think of. I'm bless to have a friend with a glass compnay to store the truck indoors for the past two years to allow some preventive deterioration. I plan on getting started this spring, I'm also very thankful for the expertise and support from FTE to beable to figure out all the hard stuff.
Looking forward to posting progress and retaining comments from you guys.
Artic yblock; I'm always admiring your 62 uni, thanks my dream truck. Also thanks for the comments about my other trucks.

Great looking truck, but your '59 has a '60 Hood on the "Olde Girl".
Great looking project! The "frigerator" years look really tough as 4x4's, especially with the big window and the long wide bed. About 20 years ago I used most of a 1975 F-150 4x4 to convert my 1960 F-100 short wide bed, custom cab into a 4x4. It sure was a great truck
I know some of the previous Ford 4X4's were conversions by Marmon-Harrington. But as I recall, 1959 was the first year Ford offered a 4X4 to the public...at least the parts numbers on some of the boxes began B9TZ.
A fellow I know locally has a 1955 F100 4X4 he just restored...it was originally owned by the National Park Service. What's really unique is the front fenders...they have welded on fender skirts...and look factory.
The truck is parked several blocks west of La Veta and Main Street in Orange County...if any of you live in the area.
Again thanks guys for teaching me so much about this truck from just some so-so pictures. Col Flashman, I didn't know it had a 60's hood, I thought all 57-60 where the same, just the emblems sperated them; I'm always learning. As for a 4x4; this truck was converted by some p/o from a 2wd 223cid to have a 1964 292 V-8 and a 4x4 front axle & disc brakes. Bobby I'm with ya on 59's being the first year for 4x4, plan on keeping this one as well. And IMO the 57-60 as a 4x4 only look good with LWB verse's SWB bodies.
I was originially going to try to remove the 292 and install a 300cid, but its going to be easier to keep it with the 292. I appericate all the previous post about my plans and will update as soon as progress is starter.

The '57-'58 had the same Hood, Fenders, Vallance & Round Turn signals but different Grilles, where as the "59 under went a major Hood (oval cut out w/ a mesh screen w/ FORD attached), Grille, Vallance redisign & went w/ Rectangular Turn Signals & then in '60 another Hood (2 slots on either side w/ a 3 point kings crown shield badge), Grille & Vallance redsign, but stuck w/ the Rectangular Turn Signals.
The '57-'58 & the '59-'60 Front Clips are not interchangable w/ each other as single pieces, unless you switch out the Whole Front Clip.
Take a peak @ my "Gallery" & you'll find Pix of all the different year model Ford/Mercury trucks we've an interest in.
