New Engine Question

I have a 1993 5.8 Bronco. The engine died on me and I had a new 5.8 put in it. I was wondering if it is ok to start the new engine out on sythetic oil or run non sythentic oil in it. The guy who put the engine in started it out on synthetic. thanks

you are to break in the motor on regular dyno oil first for 500 miles do an oil change go another 1000 miles on dyno and change then go 1500 miles on dyno and change then from there you can run synthetics.

Kemical has it right on. When I got my new engine that is exactly what the paper work told me as well.
