instrument cluster problem

when starting engine after it has sat overnight all gauges max-out for a few seconds and than register the correct position. Any ideas??

Loose connection, or a bad battery. I noticed after unhooking my battery for whatever reason, and hooking it back up after a while upon startup the gauges will do the sweep thing. Also happened after I disconnected my cluster to install my white faced gauges, then reconnected them, sweeped on startup.

Common consensus that I've read (because I actually think it looks kinda neat) is that this happens when the PCM is reset, ie electrical loss/failure etc.
