I have an 03 Ford Superduty with a 6.0. I have had the Edge Power chip with Attitude monitor. this has 0-5 settings. It monitors exhaust temp, Boost presure, Rmps, back down %. I have has this chip for over two years now and I love it. My MPG went up about 4-5. Power is unreal when you need it. Most of the time I just run it on #4. I have found that I get the best MPG at that setting. Plus I can adjust several settings in the injectors for more or less smoke and performance.
Is this a bad thing? I do not rod it a whole lot, but when it needs the power it is there for passing and pulling. No more lagg at all, I am curious if any one else has run this unit. I dont want to damage anything on this truck.. Every thing is Spendy on these trucks.
I dont know what I started here, but I really do want to try and find an answer. So far it seams like everyone agrees that I need to get a tuner to fix the turbo lag problem, but some people say that the tuner did NOT help the lag. Then it also sounds like I am dicing with death with a tuner, i.e. head gasket, broken crank, over heated turbo.
I do not need or want more HP or more Torque. I am fine with the power once the turbo kicks in. When I first got my truck it seamed much better, now it is probably a full 1.5 seconds before I feel the pull of the turbo. If I could cut that in half I would be happy.
