I have a 2006 F250 diesel with keyless entry. I have been having alot of problems with the system not working until I'm next to the truck. I took it to the dealer and they were saying the system can have interference and that it was fine. I told them my wife's 05 Escape works from inside the house but mine don't work until I'm standing in front of it. I insisted that he look at it while its in there lot and the service manager could tell it wasn't right since he was almost touching it untill the remote started working. I told them it isn't the battery since both remotes work the same. Its been like this since I got the truck in 8-05 but seems to be getting alot worse. They pulled it in the shop and an hour later came out and said they replaced the remote. The thing that tics me off is that the remote they replaced wasn't my primary one. I paid 40+K for a truck and they said it worked fine in the shop. I got it home and its no different. I called them and told them I was dropping it off today to get them to fix it right. The manager told me it might not be anything wrong with it that all systems are different. Most of the time I have to be within 10 feet for the remotes to work. I don't plan to use it a mile away but if I am walking to the truck and can see it it better work. Maybe I need a new dealer since they aready made their $$$ on me. Is anyone else expirencing this problem? Thanks in advanced!
Mine works at almost a mile!!! Seriously mine works fine at up to 30 feet and from house window. I have an '06 350. I've found Ford warranty service to be a win-lose situation. Guess who wins?
My office building is about 100 yds from my truck. I can sit at my desk on the 11th floor and lock/unlock my doors. I guess I have one of the better ones.
