I have been playing for a few years now. Nothing serious though. Mabey 3-5 times a month we go to the local pool hall after dinner and play for a few hours. Im pretty good, I guess. I can kick all of my friends butts...except for one, who has been playing longer and more serious than I have. I need to get my own cue stick though. The ones at the pool hall are usually crooked, and they are too light for me (17oz and a few 21oz's)
Anyways...do any of you play? Lets see your tables
where i live it would be a butt kicking referring to it as "billiards". here in the red neck-alps we call it "shooting pool". no table, but c'mon down, we'll shoot a few games at the local gin joint. (yeah i'm trying to find reasons to get out) bring quarters!!
I played in a bar league for a couple years. Bought my cue at a pawn shop for $13.00; it was the straightest one they had and the cheapest... I grabbed the crappiest case and the checkout girl said I needed a better one and went and took the best case and gave me that one.
I don't have a table and don't play that much anymore but I can still kick some butt... sometimes.
i play "pool", not sure waht the rules for billiards are im an eight ball kinda guy, but i need to get a new table, ive got a wood base but it warped at some point and i cant get it to flatten out. so when i start welding im gonna get a stripper slate, no frills, just a plain slate table, right now im thinking of making myself an aluminum cue, more for show than playing, but it would look darn cool

Oh...I call it pool too. I just figured I'd use the official name for it. I thought I would get yelled at for calling it pool on here...
Anyways...my friend and I just got 'Titanium' Cue sticks ($30) and a cheap bag ($9) from Wal*Mart. Went to the pool hall for 3 hours to break them in, and I must say that Im impressed.
I like to play but I don't think Im that good some nights I can run the table all night long other times I sit on my bar stool most of the time.I play for fun and fun only if I see that the guy at the table is being a ****** I won't go near the table.I so wish I had room for my own table.I once blacked out watching a marathon game between my wife and her girlfriend play and fell off a bar stool(the table was to close to the bar)and cracked my head open 15 stiches and from then on I have became one with the table
I failed geometry. Now darts thats another story. Cmon down.
Lenny1carl; Do you live anywhere near Indian lake? We had a cabin up there many moons ago.
