Well they finally announced the bowl games. And I, for one, am glad I can finally quit hearing about "The Rematch". I'm just glad an SEC team gets to play for it. I'm sure the Michigan fans are mad but oh well.
At first, after the Ohio State - Michigan game, I wanted to see a rematch. That was such a good game, couldn't think of any better way to cap off the season. I also can not stand USC, I have wished of their demise for years now . So obviously with what ESPN was telling everyone, I would have preferred an OSU - Michigan title game. I remember ESPN saying (constantly) after Michigan lost to Ohio that no matter what happens in the next two weeks, it's between Michigan and USC to play Ohio State for the championship.
It got me thinking that it would be fair if Ohio State had to beat someone, who they already beat earlier in the season, to win the Championship. Personally I don't think it would be fair to OSU if they had to replay Michigan. I was very happy with the BCS decision to allow Florida to play in the Championship game.
Have I ever told you guys how much love I have for ESPN? I think that networks biggest problems are how it doesn't always give the facts but ESPN's point of view. For instance they have pushed a rematch ever since Michigan lost, and they've been pushing it hard. Why would they push it? Easy, ratings, a rematch of Ohio State - Michigan would bring in a lot more viewers then Ohio State - Florida. Sure FOX might be carrying the game but ESPN is easily one of the biggest spots for pre and post game shows. What news story hit ESPN.com as soon as the BCS title game was announced? Not about how Florida had a good season with a tough schedule and made it into the title game. Nope, it was "Michigan gets robbed" and the entire story was about how even though Florida had a tougher schedule and a better year that we (ESPN) would be better served with Ohio State - Michigan as the title game.
I, for one, CAN"T WAIT for Ohio State to crush Florida into Orange Juice so as to cease all this "The SEC is the best conference" crapola the rest of the nation has to endure year after year.
And I don't even like Ohio State.
Oh, and finally, Wisconsin got totally screwed by the BCS
Yea, if I were betting money, I'd have to go with the nuts, but I could never bet against my Gators...and the SEC IS consistently the best conference. Whether or not they win the championship, the SEC almost always has the most quality teams, especially this year. Even the "bad" teams (Kentucky, Vandy) did well.
I grew up in Nebraska, so I really don't like any of top 4 teams. It was great having Nebraska-Oklahoma play in the Big 12 championship, felt like the Big 8 again.
I am fairly certain Ohio State will crush Florida, I was not at all impressed by the gators in the Arkansas game.
I thank USC-Michigan might be the best watching game, bit I think Michigan will pull off the win. Regardless, the winner will be able to cry all winter that they should have been the one in the championship.
Which is what make college football so much more fun than the NFL, IMO.
The Buckeye are so much better than anyone in the SEC, it will not be a game. I do think the game would have been better with Michigan in it. Fair or NOT
SEC had more just above avg team but I think that Big 10 had the top 2
CAN"T WAIT for Ohio State to crush Florida into Orange Juice
Sorta like how Texas stood no chance last year? Oh wait...
Maybe Ohio State can win this one without the refs cheating for them like in 2002.
And for all this "Michigan got robbed" BS, were was all this in 2004 for when Auburn got screwed? Not saying they coulda beat USC, but they dang sure coulda put up more of a fight than Oklahoma.
Man, Michigan should have been in the National Champ. Game, come on, they lost by 3 points at OSU's stadium. If they played at Michigan, it would be a different story. But, Michigan will win the Rose Bowl 35-17.
I think both teams are deserving of a shot at the title, which is why I hate the BCS. I wouldnt jump Florida over Michigan because I don't think FLorida could beat Michigan. ESPN said according to oddsmakers at Las Vegas, Michigan would be favored by 6 against Florida if they were to play on a neutral field.
OSU-Michigan rematch wouldn't have worked anyway; If Michigan would win, OSU still had the better record of the two and according to BCS, would still win. OSU would not have had to play that game in order to be national champs.
I, for one, CAN"T WAIT for Ohio State to crush Florida into Orange Juice so as to cease all this "The SEC is the best conference" crapola the rest of the nation has to endure year after year.
I'd just like to take this oppurtunity to tactfully and tastefully say "HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH AHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!"
