SS Line Problem in Hutch Mod?

I read a thread today that mentioned that SS lined tubes have caused problems with the injectors. Somthing about the lining breaking down and causing junk to stop up the injectors. I did alot of research and asked a few questions before doing my in tank mods and don't remember anything about being careful when picking out my brake line tubing.

What you guys/gals think?

Thanks in advance.

Unless it is some kind of "junk" that turns to a liquid and will easily pass through the filter, then i wouldn't worry about it. I believe the kit that ITP sells uses SS tubing, which i have in my tank. I have a sub-micron filter and i think that it would stop it pretty well.

I couldn't imagine it passing through even the OEM fuel filter and I bought my brake line at NAPA. Today was the first I'd heard of it. But it got me wondering.

I believe that lining is on the outside of the SS brake lines that you get at the store. Brake fluid would eat anything inside. Being outside, I guess it would be called a coating and not a lining. With a good pre-pump filter and the stocker, I doubt anything harmful would pass through but why not just use brass? It's cheap and easy to work with. Either way, I think you're good.

The post concerning this was made long ago and I wouldn't dare try to find it, but I remember it.

The only warning that I can remember reading was to stay away from the galvanized steel lines. I don't believe that diesel could have any effect on SS. As far as the galvanization, I don't know if diesel causes it to flake off or if you would actually experience disolved solids (zinc) passing through the filters and injectors. I figured to play it safe when I did the hutch and spent the extra $ on hard SS tube.
