The best way is to go to the scales and weigh the truck, then subtract the total weight from the GVWR weight shown on the sticker on the drivers door pillar.
I haul a ton with my reg. cab LB 4wd 5.4L it is at the very limits of what it can really handle. I am sure thats over the GVW but I don't much care about what the sticker says.
Thanks for the replies. Ive hauled about 1700lbs worth of concrete bags before and while it felt heavy it didnt feel like the truck was stressing at all.
Im asking because I am about to demolish a concrete slab and Im probably going to have to make a couple runs to get rid of it all if I want to use my truck. I noticed in one of the new Ford F150 adds that they pile up concrete to the top of the bedline while advertising how much it could hold and was wondering if my 1997 F150 could handle the same.
They increased the weight capacity on the newer model trucks alot with the stiffenening of the frame, ect, so I would not use that as a reference, becuase those newer trucks are a little more capable
