transfer case problem 1356 elec shift
I have a 1993 f150 when I put it in 4 low it works fine when I take it out it sounds like the chain is scrapping on the case and it won't go into 4 high or 2 high. Could this be a yoke issue? Or is the case gone? help please.

It sounds like your range fork has gone bad on you. It is not terribly difficult to pull and replace the fork. It requires some tools like different snap ring pliers and a torx bit to take the bolts out of the case. While you have it apart you can check to see what else is bad at that time too. It also helps to find an experienced transfer case rebuilder to help you decide if parts are bad or not. I replaced the shift fork and resealed the whole case for 130 dollars. That is including the tools I had to purchase to take it apart with. Otherwise you are looking at 700 dollars for a rebuilt one all the way to 1200 for a new one at bronco graveyard.
