Unhappy No load-wont rev

I work at a car lot and we have a...1997 F-Superduty 7.3L PSD 5spd, it looks to have a international remanufatured motor (just saying i dont think it matters). When you start the truck and hit the accelarator it does not respond till part-way down and then has kind of a ruff acceleration and wont rev (no load just throttle to the floor) above 2000-2500 RPMs.
Things that i think it could be...
Turbo
EBPV
Plugged exhaust-cat?
driving it it feels like there is no turbo and will not accelerate worth a turd.
what is the likely cause?
Thanks

i would take a look at the tps. it requires replacement of the entire pedal assy. probably not enough volts going to the pcm to make it rev any higher than that.

like he said, check out the TPS...........

If the turbo was gone you would most likly be dumping out a wack load of smoke, if its your EBPV it'll sound like a jet engine is trying to take off out the exhaust when the enigine is right up to temperature.

the thing the deters my from the TPS is the shaking and missing and lack of power, dont get me wrong, it could be very well a possible problem and worth checking into. what would be worth looking into IMO is the injector wiring harness, almost sounds like you have 2 or more injectors down.

Before you start hamering out parts on the unit do a cylinder contribution test on the truck and scan for codes, that would be the best place to start then go from their, if its your own personal truck and you want to save yourself some money, you can check all the pass through connectors through our valve cover gaskets(injector wiring). your looking for anything that is burnt, a poor mans way of cylinder cutting is to have the truck idle or in your case get a 2nd person to sit inside the truck and note any difference on engine acceleration when you start unplugging one connector at a time.

thiers alot more you can do but start from thier.
