I am getting an Alpine iva-w200 head unit installed today from Tweeter and was wondering how i could bypass it to where i could watch movies while driving? Please provide help ASAP i am about to go pick it up from the shop!! thanks in advance!!!
I am not an expert with this, but I have stayed at a holiday Inn.
I couldn't find the instructions for your head unit, but using IVA-D900 here's what I found. http://www.stylestandard.net/oswego/.../ivad900om.pdf
The yellow/black wire in the tuner is what stops it from displaying. A shop will hook it iinto the brake pedal or E-brake, the diagram in the instructions show 12v+ when brake is on. So wire in a toggle so it works the way it should if you have inspections, so one pole is to the switch and the other is constant power. Your instructions will specify the wire color, if it is different.
Its a small box that is usually installed behind the radio - no reason for it to be discovered unless you are at the border and the rest of your truck is in boxes lol.
I agree the TR7 is the way to go. It automatically does all the pulsing for you and you don't have to mount any switches. Very simple to do. The instructions don't tell you to ground it for the Alpine bypass mode but you have to.
It is the same unit I use on my IVA-W200 and it works like a charm. Hope you like the Alpine. I'm picking up a PXA-H701 when I get back in town and putting it in with the two rear monitors. Hopefully I'll be able to work on my box also.
Just be careful about where you run the DVD and what traffic is around you. I was in a parking lot wainting on my wife to come out of a store and was watching my DVD. A policeman drove by and saw me watching. Next thing I know, when we left, he must have followed me 4 blocks hoping e would catch me with it on...
