It was 80 yesterday, I really enjoyed it. Though I did sit for an hour at the Downtown Tunnel (Downtown Norfolk to Portsmouth) waiting to get through.

isn't it great when people who don't have vehicles capable of getting out in heavy snow try to get out anyhow and make traffic blocks for everyone else? On my way home from work yesterday morning at 5 a.m.just about every street corner had a 2wd/fwd vehicle belly hung in the the snow, not moving.i had to blaze my own trail through at least 12 inches of snow not counting drifting through a gas station parking lot to get to the street that led to my house, even then my cherokee almost got belly hung a couple times. come on people, take a day off, stay home, watch tv snuggle with the wife/gf whatever the case may be,help shovel the elderly neighbor's drive out, whatever you have to do to stay the hell off the streets!!

Thursday night my wife couldn't get home from work..... rt 83 and lemont road bridges were shut town due to ice. Apparently our town isn't big on preparedness....

Friday morning work called and said don't bother coming in as there's no service scheduled. Good thing too as the daily car still has drag radials on it and I was barely able to get the car to move 10 feet in the yard. Apparently I'm not too big on preparedness....

Unfortunately, many employers do not make exceptions for weather, and people just don't have the vehicles for it... I've worked for a few that didn't let people off for it, then there are the die hards that go in no matter what...
I had a job a while back that gave me grief over not coming in... I had snow over the height of the hood on my t/a, and no other wheels at the time... They hadn't gotten as much in their area, so I told them just turn on the news, it was on there... almost 3' of snow in several hours....

We've had this kind of weather and road conditions since halloween. Where's all this global warming I hear so much about. Temp right now -25C and more snow on the way. Takes me an 1 hour and 10 min. to get to the job site I'm working at and same thing going home. I wish people would by some snow tires.

The 15 billion dollar tunnel/bridge/road system you guys helped pay for in Boston ADDED at least a 1/2 hour to my commute through the city. Money well spent. Thanks
