I own a 2000 f-150 5.4 4x4. It has around 142,000 miles. I'm lookin to add a power programer. It currently has a superchip in it (i don't know to much about it cuz it was on there when i bout the truck a few years ago) and a k&n air intake. i'm runnin 285 bfg all-terrians and straight pipes behind the cats. i've done a lot of lookin at the hypertech programmer and the edge evolution. i like the edge cuz the it goes on the dash and i can control it there. but i've heard a lot of good things about the hypertech even though i haven't heard bad on the edge. what do u guys think would give me the most bang for the buck?
i'm postin this in the performance section also so maybe those guys can help as well. thanks for all your input.
Both will tune up well because of your mileage and other factors but I've seen The DiabloSport Predator work great with F150's so I'd really lean towards it. And it won't void factory warranties, although you do have a lot of miles on your ride. And it can receive custom tunes via email or internet, pretty crazy.
i may be wrong, but you will need to remove the superchips chip in order to use a programmer. the programmer will permit you to have control over a how you want to program to work. a chip is programmed and that is it. if you want a customer programm the diablo can download custom tunes from diablo's websit for a fee.
as for other options to add power. i add a 75mm throttle body and i added a good power boost at about 2k and up. i would stay away for the tb spacers. your money will be better spent on the 75mm tb. just my two cents.
