Hi All,
I am still in search of the gasket cover piece that goes on with the starter on y-blocks. Does ANYBODY know where these can be found or possible have a good used one laying aroung that they would want to sell???

Thanks, Ed

Hi,

Could you please be more specific about what you're looking for. If you could post a photo of the part or even of the place where the part usuually goes, that would be helpful.

It sounds like the rubber/metal seal between the starter and the engine block.

Got It !!!

Thanks to Fomoco and M6..... for the replies.

What I was looking for is called "Starter to Flywheel Housing Seal" and I found it at the following...

www.earlyford.com B4A6346 $7.95
www.cgfordparts.com same# $10.00 (has a picture)

It is a metal gasket covered in rubber with a wider edge on the block side.

I am having lock-up issues on this site when uploading a picture or I would add one to this post.

thanks again, Ed

I have one but is my only spare. Mummert's Ford-y-block.com or Dennis Carpenter. I would only part with mine for what it would cost to replace it at the above sites . I haven't tried it yet but was led to believe that a later ford starter will work. No long starter drive and no seal. Some one let me know if this later starter will work.
