'00 v10 not starting

Went to leave a job a few days ago in the afternoon and engine wouldn't start. I messed under the hood a little and hit the starter and she fired up and got me home. Next day, started fine but didn't hold the idle and when I tried to start it again, .. nothing. Not even an attempt to turn over. I changed the starter last night thinking it may be the solenoid but still no result. Battery seems fine, all fuses look fine, and I am going to check continuity of all electrical lines now but would appreciate any suggestions. It has 120k and was just given a tune-up and oil change at a local shop. The shop read no codes. I changed the brake pads a few weeks ago if this could have any bearing. Thank you.

Sounds like a relay problem. You might try using a rubber handled screw driver and tapping on some of the relays in the fuse box under the hood. This happens to me in my ford van sometimes.

If it will run with the gas pedal down than it is the IAC. Just had to do mine last week.

I had a similar problem. Mine ended up being the fuel pump and relay. Not a cheap endeavor at around $750.

Thank you for the suggestions gentlemen. It turns out there are two starter solenoids on my Ex. One on the starter and another located behind the battery above the wheel well. Found this when I was doing a continuity check, had the dealer test it, bought a new one and all is well. I appreciate the replies and God bless.
