Yes I do have an alarm system, ignition kill, and visual (led idication) as well as gps tracking for stolen vehicles (LoJack). Please do not get me wrong, I am not saying this is the solution to the problem. My old SD was broken into, (big mess), and I had a BMW convertable that had the top cut, because someone decided they wanted to look through my ride. Again nothing was stolen (I try never to leave any valuables in vehicles.) I have just found that making it easier for a would be thief, has done a better job of detering that individual, than creating curiosity, by locking it up. There really is nothing that can work 100% of the time. I just use human nature to my advantage, we are all taught that,"if it is too good to be true, it probably is." Again there are exceptions to every rule. This has worked for me for a while now, and until I find an alternative, we are gonna leave our stuff unlocked. Too bad people think it is alright to take something that someone else has worked hard for. If people did not steal, we would not have had to invent the lock in the first place..... sad situation all the way around.
I would like to try the "unlocked" method...but then my alarm would not arm the siren. The alarm will still arm the disable engine feature though...humm???
After talking with my wife over the weekend, she reminded me of my stereo being stolen out of my 66 when I lived in Orange county, the door was unlocked, the even took my Hank Jr. tape out and left it on the floor, along with all the screws and electrical plugs..... makes me wonder if they would have been so "kind" had the doors been locked, or was is the opportunity of the unlocked doors, stereo visible
Yes, as diesel dan said, Carry Concealed Weapon, and I do!
i have some valuables in my vehicle and "MUST" lock the doors? stock SD's dont come with the engine disable? whats a cheap alarm or factory alarm cost...i dont live in the best area of town and storage in a garage is not an option..what am i to do...oh yeah i sleep with a baby monitor next to me...along with my .223 ..even though...what is the recomended anti-theft? the blinking light?
