I recently installed a tilt column from a 66 lincoln. I also am installing a new power brake system. Since the tilt has a larger shaft(also have to mount to the toyota p/s box which is over more towards the gas pedal)it does not leave much room for the hanging brake pedal to move. Did anyone else come across this and what did you do? I want the hanging pedal and I can't move the steering column. Any pictures would be very helpful.
Thanks guy in advance and for all the previous help.
I take it you have installed a firewall mount brake booster.I did one
one the fire wall and one frame mounted I heated and bent the brake pedal arm on the fire wall mounted one.And got a brake pedal from a stick car (smaller)I personally like the frame mounted one better. I could send you Pictures of a frame mounted booster.and toyota box.
I think I will take you up on those pics. hirschi@nevp.com
Thanks for the offer. I was also planning on just cutting the pedal down to a smaller width. Already rough-bent pedal arm.
go to http://jniolon.clubfte.com look in the left frame for the article on Installing hanging pedals... I had to heat the pedal arm and bend it to fit..then re weld the pedal onto the arm... hope it helps
