I purchased a '93 crew cab dually ( idi na, 2wd, 5 speed) in july of this year with app. 51,750 miles on it ( no not a misprint). I am going to change the coolant and was wondering how much of the sca it would take. This is not my first diesel but is my first idi-others were all powerstrokes (97,99,02). Mods so far - true dual exhaust with 2.5 " pipes , glasspacks, and 3" chrome tips (yes it does sound off above 2000 rpm) and i have cut out the soupbowl. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Thanks for the welcome and for the help. I never have had to recharge the whole system after a coolant change before so I was just wanting a ballpark figure.

I just did my '85, got the test strips and additive at my local NAPA dealer, took about 5 qts to reach the level needed according to the test strips. I had done a complete flush, including heater core, pretty sure this engine hasn't seen any significant maintenance in years.
